As the son of former Palatine High School Athletic Director, Chic Anderson, Stan was exposed to athletics at an early age. He learned first hand the value of athletics and the importance of having a strong work ethic. His competitiveness and leadership made him an excellent role model for other student athletes. Excelling in both soccer and baseball, Stan led the area in shutouts and goals against average as the varsity goalkeeper. He also was the leading home run hitter his senior year and was selected to compete in a high school home run hitting contest. He was named the Palatine High School Athlete of the Year in 1985. As a four-year letter winner in soccer at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Stan held many national records for shutouts in a single season, consecutive shutouts and goals against average. He had a high of fourteen shutouts in 1989. He finished his brilliant career by participating in the National College All-Star Game. After playing one year of professional soccer, Stan embarked on an extremely successful coaching career. He spent ten years at the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee, helping them to a 136-63-17 record and five straight N.C.A.A. Tournament appearances. He has been recognized as one of the top assistant coaches in the nation on several occasions. In 2005, he became the Associate Head Coach at Marquette University and is helping to make thema national power house. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Stan has worked to create charitable organizations to provide monies for the Red Cross and for the Fight Against Breast Cancer.
