Pat's career began in 1970 when she was hired by principal Leonard Newendorp to lead the spirit programs. Her impact on the athletic program and the student body is immeasurable. She left no stone unturned in her quest to make Palatine High School the best place to be for students, athletics, and supporters of our athletic teams. For 32 years, her creativity, energy, and enthusiasm have helped develop the best spirit groups in the state. She created a "team atmosphere" among spirit groups, athletic teams, and fans, that has made our school environment very special and recognized throughout the area. In 1980, Pat combined Flags, Cheerleaders, and Poms into the "Triad," an organization which has further enhanced our athletic atmosphere. During her tenure, the Pirateers won nine State Championships and the Piradettes won 10 State Championships. A consummate professional, the words dedicated, loyal, and committed are synonymous with Pat and her efforts to bring out the best in her students. Pat has been recognized many times for her excellence in teaching and for her outstanding contributions to cheerleading associations. The school's yearbook was dedicated to her in 1981, and she was inducted into the I.D.T.A. Hall of Fame in 1989.
